Rear Evaporator Rear Outlet and Inlet Line: Removal

NOTE:
During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

The rear evaporator inlet and outlet lines are installed from the factory as a single one-piece assembly. The replacement part is supplied as a multiple-piece kit for ease of installation.
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Vehicles With: R1234YF Refrigerant or Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Vehicles With: R134A Refrigerant .
- Remove the spare tire.
- Remove the RH front fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
- Remove the RH rear wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Remove the muffler. Refer to: Muffler .
- Remove the RH catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter RH .
- Remove the bolts and lower the heat shield.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Remove the bolts and the heat shield.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Remove the bolts and the heat shield.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Remove the bolts and the heat shield.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

- Remove the nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Remove the nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
- Remove the nut and disconnect the fitting.
- Remove the bracket cover.
- Remove the bolt and bracket.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove the nut and bracket.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove the nut and position the rear thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly aside.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
- Release the A/C and rear heater core lines.

Remove the nut and bracket.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Release the A/C and rear heater core lines.

- Assemble and lay out the replacement lines in the same position as the existing lines and, using a suitable tool, cut the lines in the same position as the fittings on the new lines. Use the General Equipment: Grinder
- Remove the rear evaporator rear outlet and inlet lines.
- Remove the rear evaporator rear outlet and inlet lines.
