Pinpoint Test C : Tr Sensor: Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 
The TR sensor is comprised of a dual set of TR sensors. The manual shifter engages and disengages Park and the shifter position is detected by reading TR sensors A and B. There is no manual valve, the TCM provides forward or reverse based on the dual TR sensor inputs. The 10R80 transmission uses dual PWM output (at 125 Hz) TR sensors where: TR sensor A increases as the shifter is moved from Park to Sport and TR sensor B decreases as the shifter is moved from Park to Sport, together the sum of the two signals should add up to 100%. The 10R80 transmission mechanical shifter variant is range by wire with mechanical Park.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
TCM P0706:00 Transmission Range Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the TCM detects an out of range condition due to a short to ground, a short to power or an open condition in the TR sensor circuitry.
TCM P0707:00 Transmission Range Sensor "A" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the TCM detects an out of range condition due to a short to ground, a short to power or an open condition in the TR sensor circuitry.
TCM P0708:00 Transmission Range Sensor "A" Circuit High: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the TCM detects an out of range condition due to a short to ground, a short to power or an open condition in the TR sensor circuitry.
TCM P0709:00 Transmission Range Sensor "A" Circuit Intermittent: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the fault was not present long enough for the TCM to determine a more specific fault. If a more specific DTCs such as P0706, P0707 or P0708 are set resolve them first.
TCM P1705:00 Transmission Range Circuit Not Indicating Park/Neutral During Self Test: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the self-test is run in R or a forward gear, the TR sensor is misaligned or the TR sensor is inoperative.
TCM P2801:00 Transmission Range Sensor "B" Circuit Range/Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the TCM detects an out of range condition due to a short to ground, a short to power or an open condition in the TR sensor circuitry.
TCM P2802:00 Transmission Range Sensor "B" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the TCM detects an out of range condition due to a short to ground, a short to power or an open condition in the TR sensor circuitry.
TCM P2803:00 Transmission Range Sensor "B" Circuit High: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the TCM detects an out of range condition due to a short to ground, a short to power or an open condition in the TR sensor circuitry.
TCM P2804:00 Transmission Range Sensor "B" Circuit Intermittent: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the fault was not present long enough for the TCM to determine a more specific fault. If a more specific DTCs such as P2801, P2802 or P2803 are set resolve them first.
TCM P2805:00 Transmission Range Sensor "A"/ "B" Correlation: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the TCM detects the sum of the TR sensors is out of range.

Connectors damaged or pushed-out terminals, corrosion, loose wires and missing or damaged seals
