Differential Draining and Filling

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .
  2. Remove the rear axle fluid drain plug and allow the axle fluid to drain.

Filling 

  1. Install the rear axle fluid drain plug.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  2. Remove the rear axle fluid fill plug.

  3. Fill the differential with clean differential gear lubricant. Refer to: Specifications .

  4. Install the rear axle fluid fill plug.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
