Oil Pan Upper Section, Removing And Installing: Removing
- The engine is removed and secured to the engine/transmission holder. Refer to ENGINE, SECURING ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .
- Engine Oil Is Drained. Refer to the appropriate service information.
-- Remove the lower timing chain cover. Refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the oil pan lower section. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the coolant pump. Refer to COOLANT PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Place the :SMN372500 under the engine and leave it there for the following steps.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the oil pipe.
Oil escapes when removing oil pipes.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and remove the intake tube.
-- Remove the ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Audi RS6/RS7
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- then remove the oil lines -1 and 2-.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the :VAS6122 .
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Free up the wires from the oil dipstick tube.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and then unclip and remove the oil dipstick tube -2- from the intake manifold.
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
Ignore item -2-.
-- Loosen and remove the bolts -1 to 6- in a diagonal sequence.
-- Loosen the oil pan upper section carefully from the adhesive then push it off the alignment sleeves and remove it.
