Clutch Master Cylinder, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

If damaged, replace the O-ring.

-- Connect the connector -5-.

-- Install the clutch master cylinder -1-.

-- Install the clutch master cylinder into the footwell in the direction of -arrow A-. When doing this, lock it in direction of -arrow B- using the Wrench - Ring 3355.

CAUTION:

"Rattling noises" when using the clutch.

"Rattling noises" can occur when pressing the clutch if there is not enough grease in the bearing area on the clutch pedal or especially on the lug for the master cylinder pressure rod.
Lubricate all bearing areas and contact surfaces with Lubricating Grease G 000 450 02.

-- Lubricate the mounting pins -4- and the bearing lug for the master cylinder pressure rod.

-- Install the mounting pins -4-. The shoulder on the pin -arrow B- must be guided into the groove in the clutch pedal.

NOTE:

Ignore -1, 2 and 3- and -arrow A-.

-- Over-center spring, installing. Refer to INSTALLING THE OVER-CENTER SPRING .

-- Push the clip -3- all the way in.

-- Push hose/line assembly -4- into clutch master cylinder until the line audibly engages.

-- Pull on the hose/line assembly to make sure it is secure.

-- Install the return hose -2-.

After removing the Hose Clamp up to 25mm 3094, the return hose -2- must be formed back into its original shape.

-- Bleed the clutch system. Refer to CLUTCH MECHANISM, BLEEDING .

-- Installing the refer to Fuse Panel B -SB- IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT E-BOX, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Follow all steps after connecting the battery. Refer to CONNECTING - Battery. .
