Pinpoint Test H : The Power Liftgate Does Not Power Open (Power Close OK)

- H1 CHECK FOR LTM DTCs
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the LTM self-test.
Are any DTCs present?
Yes REFER to the Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM) DTC Chart . No GO to H2. - H2 CHECK THE MANUAL OPERATION OF THE LIFTGATE
- Unlock the doors using the door lock control switch.
- Turn the power liftgate off (disable) from the message center.

NOTE: A small amount of interference during a manual operation is amplified during a power operation and may cause the liftgate to not power open.
Manually open and close the liftgate.
Does the liftgate unlatch, open, close and latch correctly?
Yes GO to H3. No CORRECT the root cause of the concern. - H3 CHECK THE LIFTGATE LATCH AND STRIKER ALIGNMENT

NOTE: Make sure to inspect the underside of the striker bridge for witness marks.
Inspect the striker and latch for correct alignment.
Is the latch and striker aligned correctly?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test A . No ALIGN the liftgate and striker. REFER to Liftgate Alignment . -
