Control module, coding: Notes

NOTE:
- If the correct coding for the vehicle is not displayed, or if the control module has been replaced, the control module must be coded.
- Coding is checked via a VAG 1551 Scan Tool or VAS 5051.
- During control module identification a 5-digit code must always be displayed.
- Incorrect coding may lead to higher emissions and increased strain on the automatic transmission resulting from harsh gearshift jolts.
- Connect Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 or VAG 1551 Scan Tool and select engine electronics control module by entering address word "01". See VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC, TESTING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM VAS 5051 OR VAG 1551 SCAN TOOL, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS . When doing this the ignition must be switched on.

- Press buttons -0- and -7- to select function "Code Control Module" and confirm entry with -Q- button.
