Checking rotor on rear axle
- Raise vehicle.
- Remove wheel.
- Remove speed sensor from wheel bearing housing.
- Inspect rotor for signs of damage or dirt.
Removing and installing rotor on rear axle
Removing
- Raise vehicle.
- Remove wheel.
- Remove brake caliper → Brake pads, removing and installing .
- Hang up brake caliper on body.
- Inspect rotor for signs of damage or dirt.
- If rotor is damaged, remove drive axle with rotor and replace outer joint.
- Removing and installing drive axle → 42 - REAR SUSPENSION
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal.
- Route speed sensor wire back in original position.
- Before installing, lubricate speed sensor seal all around with lubricating paste G 000 650 .
NOTE:
- If rotor is damaged or dirty, remove drive axle. If damaged, replace outer CV joint together with rotor.
- The outer CV joint is supplied as a replacement part with the rotor. → 42 - REAR SUSPENSION
