Muffler Overview

Catalytic Converters and Particulate Filter

1. Bolt
   • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
2. Suspended Mount
   • Replace if damaged.
   • Check pretension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLATION WITHOUT TENSION .
3. SCR Catalytic Converter
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to SCR CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
4. Clamp
5. Seal
   • Replace
6. Reducing Agent Injector -N474-
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to Reducing Agent Injector -N474-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
7. Bolt
   • Tightening specification: 5 Nm
8. Seal
   • Replace
9. Seal
   • Replace
10. Bolt
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
11. Bracket
    • For the preliminary catalytic converter.
12. Nut
    • Replace
    • Coat with hot bolt paste; Hot bolt paste.
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
13. Seal
    • Replace
14. Turbocharger
15. Primary Catalytic Converter
    • With a flex joint.
    • Do not bend the decoupling element more than 10° or it will be damaged.
    • Protect from shocks and impact stress.
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to PRIMARY CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
    • Align the exhaust system free of tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLATION WITHOUT TENSION .
16. Bolt
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
17. Nut
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
    • Replace
    • Coat with hot bolt paste; Hot bolt paste.
18. Particulate Filter
    • With catalytic converter.
    • With the Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 -G450- pressure line, refer to -item  15- Pressure Line for the Differential Pressure Sensor -G505-.
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
    • After replacing, perform "Adaptation  " in "Guided Functions  ", refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
19. Suspended Mount
    • Replace if damaged.
20. Bolt
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
21. Suspended Mount
    • Replace if damaged.
22. Bolt
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
23. Nut
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
    • Replace
    • Coat with hot bolt paste; Hot bolt paste.
24. Suspended Mount
    • Replace if damaged
25. Bolt
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
26. Nut
    • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
27. Clamping Sleeve
    • Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLATION WITHOUT TENSION .
    • Installed position, refer to Fig 3.
    • Tighten threaded connections evenly.

Rear Muffler and Tail Pipes

1. Tail Pipe
   • Replacing. Refer to TAIL PIPES, REPLACING .
2. Bolt
   • Tightening specification: 60 Nm
3. Suspended Mount
   • Replace if damaged.
4. Bolt
   • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
5. Rear Muffler
   • different versions for emissions standard EU 6 and BIN 5; allocate correct parts .
   • Align the exhaust system free of tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLATION WITHOUT TENSION .
6. Bolt
   • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
7. Suspended Mount
   • Replace if damaged.
8. Suspended Mount
   • Replace if damaged.
9. Bolt
   • Tightening specification: 23 Nm
10. Tail Pipe
    • Replacing. Refer to TAIL PIPES, REPLACING .
11. Bolt
    • Tightening specification: 60 Nm
