Pre-Catalytic Converters, Removing And Installing: Removal

Proceed as follows:
-- On a vehicle with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode, refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .
-- Remove the bolts and rear noise insulation -2-.
-- Remove bolts -1, 2, 3- on main catalytic converter brackets.
WARNING:
There is the risk of an accident.
- Engine/Gearbox Jack VAS1383A may only be used during assembly and not stand unsupervised under vehicle.
-- Support transmission with Engine/Gearbox Jack VAS1383A and connected Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support T10337 as shown in illustration.
NOTE:
Ignore -Items 1 and 2-.
-- Remove transmission carrier bolts -1 and 2-.
-- Remove bolts -arrows- and remove transmission carrier.
NOTE:
Ignore -Items 1 and 2-.
-- Loosen clamping sleeves -1 and 2-.
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging decoupling elements.
- Do not bent decoupling elements in front exhaust pipe more than 10°.
-- Remove bolts -arrows- and main catalytic converters from clamping sleeves.
