Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-, CHECKING
- Follow the guidelines for a clean working environment when working on the fuel system. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS AND FUEL SYSTEM WORK INSTRUCTIONS .
- Always follow these rules before and during work.
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Pay attention to the connection differences of the banjo bolt.
- Check the banjo bolt on vehicles with two connections. Refer to Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-, CHECKING .
- Check the banjo bolt on vehicles with three connections. Refer to Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-, CHECKING .

-- Remove the fuel return lines -1 and 2- from the banjo bolt.
-- Seal the open return line connection with a plug -1-.
-- Seal the open connection from the banjo bolt with a blind plug -2-.
-- Connect the hose -4- on the open banjo bolt connection.
-- Hold this hose -4- in a suitable measuring container.
-- Hold this return line -3- in a suitable container.
-- Measure the return quantity from the hose as follows -4-.
The amount of fuel in the fuel injector from the hose -3- is not important for this test.
Fuel temperature greater then 10 °C (50 °F).
-- Start the engine and let it run in idle.
- Return quantity from the hose -4- when starting: 0 ml.
- Return quantity from the hose -4- in two minutes: 0 to 50 ml.
If the specified value is not attained, then the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- is faulty.
-- Replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-. Refer to Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the fuel return lines -1, 2 and 3- from the banjo bolt.
-- Seal the open return line connection -1- with a plug.
-- Seal the open connections from the banjo bolt with blind plugs -arrows-.
-- Hold these hose lines -2 and 3- in a suitable container.
-- Attach a hose to the open return line with a suitable connection -1-.
-- Hold this hose -4- in a suitable measuring container.
-- Measure the return quantity from the hose as follows -4-.
The amount of fuel from the hose -3 and 3- is not important for this test.
-- Start the engine and let it run in idle.
- Return quantity when starting: 0 ml.
- Return quantity in two minutes: 0 to 55 ml.
If the specified value is not attained, then the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- is faulty.
-- Replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-. Refer to Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
