WIRING AND COMPONENT TESTING WITH Breakout Box w/Detachable Terminals VAS6606 (FROM MY 2011): Notes
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Breakout Box w/Detachable TerminalsVAS6606
- Test Adapter - Isolator Box 1VAS6606/1 with the following:
- - Isolator Box - Module 2VAS6606/2
- - Isolator Box Module 3VAS6606/3
- - Template - Isolator BoxVAS6606/1-1

- - Template - Isolator BoxVAS6606/3-1
- - VAS6606/7
Always make sure the cables are connected correctly.
Never use any damaged or worn tools or accessories.
Always read the Operating Instructions that come with the Breakout Box w/Detachable TerminalsVAS6606.
-- Connect the VAS6606/7 to the Breakout Box w/Detachable TerminalsVAS6606.
-- Use the following sheets:
- Template - Isolator BoxVAS6606/1-1 for Test Adapter - Isolator Box 1VAS6606/1
- Isolator Box - Module 2 TemplateVAS6606/2-1 for Isolator Box - Module 2VAS6606/2
- Template - Isolator BoxVAS6606/3-1 for Isolator Box Module 3VAS6606/3
Make sure all connection bridges are connected completely on all breakout boxes.
-- Connect the ground wire to a breakout box and to a ground point on the vehicle.
-- Remove the engine control module. Refer to Engine Control Module -J623-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Connect the engine control module to the Test Adapter for ECU - Isolator Box - 1mVAS6606/7-1.
-- Connect the Test Adapter for ECU - Isolator Box - 1.7mVAS6606/7-2 to the vehicle wiring harness.
The connection on the engine control module consists of a large and small connector.
The large connector has 105 pins and is assigned from "A 1 through A 105" on the breakout box sheet.
The smaller connector has 91 pins and is assigned from "B 1 through B 91" on the breakout box sheet.
The connection will get interrupted when the connection bridge is disconnected.
The "In contact" -1- (red socket) goes to the engine control module.
The "Out contact" -2- (blue socket) goes to the wiring harness.
-- Perform test as described in relevant repair sequences.
