Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Lifting Tackle 3033
- Engine And Transmission Holder VAS6095 with Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket VAS6095/1-4
- Shop Crane VAS6100
- Lift Arm Extension VAS6101
Procedure
- Engine/transmission assembly removed and separated on Scissor Lift Table VAS6131A.
- Engine secured with Front Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7.
Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping power steering fluid.
Vehicles through 05/2010:
-- Remove the banjo bolt -1- and the screw for the power steering fluid line -2-.
Vehicles from 06/2010:
-- Remove the bolts -2- and the hydraulic pipe.
Ignore -item 1-.
All vehicles:
-- Seal any open lines and connections with a clean plug from the Engine Bung Set VAS 6122.
-- Remove the bolt on the -arrow- on the A/C compressor wire bracket.
-- Remove engine bracket left and right bolts -arrows-.
Engine carrier remains in installation location.
-- Connect the Lift Arm Extension VAS6101 to the Shop Crane VAS6100.
-- Engage the Lifting Tackle 3033 on the engine lifting eyes and on the shop crane as shown in the illustration.
-- Tension engine slightly with shop crane, do not raise.
-- Remove Front Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7 from engine.
-- Raise engine from engine carrier.
-- If equipped, remove the nuts -arrows- and the connector bracket from the left engine support.
-- Remove the left and right bolts -1 through 4- and remove the engine support.
The left engine support is shown in the illustration.
-- Secure the engine to the Engine And Transmission Holder VAS6095 using the Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket VAS6095/1-4 and tighten to 40 Nm, as illustrated.
