Fan Shroud, Vehicles From 06/2010, Removing And Installing
Removal
-- On a vehicle with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode. Refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .
-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
-- Carefully pull the engine cover off the 4 bolts one after the other -arrows-.
-- Pull cover over radiator -arrows-.
-- Remove the front noise insulation -1-. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Lift the clip -1-, loosen the clamp -4- and remove the air guide hoses.
-- Remove the bolts -2- and -3- and remove the lower air guide pipe.
-- Remove the bolts -2- and -3-.
-- Loosen the clamps -1- and -4- and remove the air guide hoses.
-- Remove the air duct pipe downward.
-- Remove the air guide hose by loosening the hose clamps -arrows-.
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -2 through 4- and then remove the air guide pipe from the charge air cooler.
-- Lift the clips -1-, loosen the hose clamps -2- and -3- and remove the air duct hoses.
Danger of personal injury due to the coolant fan turning on by itself.
- Disconnect the connectors before working near the fan shroud.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2- and free up the wires.
-- Press locking tabs at left and right on fan shroud -arrow- and at the same time, lift fan shroud out of engine compartment.
Installation
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
-- Install the air guide pipes. Refer to AIR DUCT PIPES AND AIR DUCT HOSES OVERVIEW .
-- Install the air duct pipes with the connector coupling, refer to Figure.
-- Press the fan shroud onto the radiator until it clicks into place.
