Crankshaft, Measuring Axial Clearance

- Dial Gauge HolderVW387
- Dial Gauge - 0-10mmVAS6079
Procedure
-- Install the Dial Gauge - 0-10mmVAS6079 with the Dial Gauge HolderVW387 on the cylinder block as shown in the illustration.
-- Place the dial gauge against the crankshaft counterweight.
-- Press the crankshaft against the dial gauge by hand and set the gauge to "0".
-- Press the crankshaft off the dial gauge and read the measurement.
Axial clearance:
- New: 0.090 to 0.215 mm.
- Wear limit: 0.280 mm.
