Suction Jet Pumps

Version 1: Vehicles with 3.0L (V6)/4.2L (V8) engines through 05/2010 and 6.0L (V12) Engine

Fuel tank is divided into a left and a right chamber. The two so-called suction jet pumps -1 and 4- transport the fuel volumes from the left fuel tank chamber to the right to the fuel delivery unit baffle housing -5- or from the right fuel tank chamber to the left to the fuel delivery baffle housing -8-.
Function of the suction jet pumps is based on a simple physical principle: An injector in the suction jet pumps -1 and 4- compresses the suction jet from the preliminary stage of the electrical fuel pump on the right -5- or left side -8-, which accelerates the suction jet. This acceleration causes the surrounding fuel to be drawn in and be forced to the baffle housings of the fuel delivery units. The right suction jet pump -4- supplies the left baffle housing and the left suction jet pump -1- supplies the right baffle housing.

Version 2: Vehicles with 3.0L (V6)/4.2L (V8) Engine from 06/2008:

Fuel tank is divided into a left and a right chamber. Use a suction jet pump -3- to move fuel from left fuel tank chamber to the right one for the fuel delivery unit baffle housing -1-.
The suction jet pump functions according to a simple physics principle: An injector in the suction jet pump -3- compresses the suction jet of the electrical fuel pump's preliminary stage -1-, which accelerates the suction jet. This acceleration causes the surrounding fuel to be drawn in and be forced to the baffle housing of the fuel delivery unit.
