Right Suction Jet Pump, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 3.0L (V6)/4.2L (V8) Engines Through 05/2010: Removing
Follow all safety precautions, refer to WORKING ON FUEL SYSTEM .
Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions, refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- To remove suction jet pump, fuel tank should be completely empty. Procedure to empty the fuel tank, refer to FUEL TANK, DRAINING .
-- Remove the right fuel delivery unit, refer to RIGHT FUEL DELIVERY UNIT AND Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Reach into the right fuel tank opening and remove the Fuel Level Sensor -G- from the guide in direction of -arrow 2- while pressing the locking tab in direction of -arrow 1-.
-- Carefully remove the Fuel Level Sensor -G- through the opening in the fuel tank.
The Fuel Level Sensor -G- is shown without the fuel tank to provide a better illustration.
-- Reach through the opening on the left side of the fuel tank, press the releases and remove the delivery line -1-.
Ignore items -2, 3 and 4-.
-- Reach through the opening in the fuel tank and pull the delivery line out through the opening on the right side of the fuel tank.
-- Press the tab -arrow 1- and pull the suction jet pump out of the guide in direction of -arrow 2-.
The suction jet pump is illustrated without the fuel tank.
-- Remove suction jet pump carefully through the opening in the fuel tank.
