MECHATRONIC, Removing And Installing: Removing

CAUTION:

Complete the steps for disconnecting the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery ground cable.

-- Remove the ATF pan. Refer to ATF PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the ATF strainer. Refer to OIL SCREEN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Turn the screw counter-clockwise and disconnect the connector -arrow-.

CAUTION:

Always discharge static by touching a grounded object, for example, vehicle ground, before touching or removing the Mechatronic unit.
Connector terminals in connector must not be touched by hand under any circumstances because control module and therefore Mechatronic may be destroyed by static discharge.

-- To discharge static, touch vehicle ground with hand (without glove).

-- Press the tab -arrow 1- and remove locking lever -arrow 2-.

-- Remove the connector housing -arrow 3-.

-- Remove the Mechatronic bolts in the following sequence: -10 to 1-.

NOTE:

Only bolts marked with -10 to 1- may be loosened.

If other bolts are loosened, this may affect the function of the Mechatronic unit or it may come apart.

-- Remove the Mechatronic from the transmission.
