Diagnostic Connection

Component location: diagnostic connector is located in passenger side footwell.

The following listed components can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" with the Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information SystemVAS 5051 A.

Mechatronic

The Mechatronic unit incorporates the hydraulic control, the transmission control module, the multifunction transmission range switch and the sensors and actuators as a complete synchronized unit. It contains the following components.

Transmission Control Module -J217-
Multifunction Transmission Range Switch -F125-
Transmission Input Speed Sensor -G182-
Transmission Output Speed Sensor -G195-
Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor -G93-
Solenoid and pressure control valves

Only the complete "Mechatronic" unit can be replaced.

NOTE:

OBD checks all the components named.

Installed location: The mechatronic unit is bolted to the bottom of the transmission housing and is covered by the transmission fluid pan.

Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-

Component location: the selector lever transmission range position display unit -Y26- next to the selector lever. The display shows "P, R, N, D, S".

Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module -J587- with Tiptronic Switch -F189-

Component location: the selector lever sensor system control module -J587- with the tiptronic switch -F189- is located on the selector mechanism under the shifter boot.

NOTE:

The selector lever sensor system control module -J587- and the tiptronic switch -F189- are a single component.

Tiptronic Switch -F189- magnets are secured to cover.

Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-

Component location: the shift lock solenoid -N110- is on the selector mechanism.
