ATF, Draining Or Filling After Repair

Procedure
- The engine is off.
Drain plug and ATF inspection plug must be replaced after removing.
-- Drive the vehicle onto a 4-column hoist or over a service pit so that it is absolutely level.
-- Fill the reservoir of the ATF Filler ToolV.A.G 1924 with ATF for automatic transmission 0AT; ATF specification CAPACITIES .
-- Secure ATF Filler ToolV.A.G 1924 reservoir as high as possible on vehicle.
-- Remove bolts and remove rear noise insulation -2-.
Wear protective eyewear.
-- Place old oil collecting and extracting deviceV.A.G 1782 beneath transmission.
-- Remove the drain plug -arrow A-.
-- Drain the ATF.
Ignore items -1 through 13-.
Follow all applicable disposal regulations.
Do not start the engine or tow the vehicle if there is no ATF in the transmission.
-- Replace the drain plug.
-- Tighten the drain plug, tightening specification OIL PAN, OIL STRAINER AND MECHATRONIC, ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .
Fill the transmission with ATF.
-- Remove the ATF check plug -arrow-.
-- Guide filler hook of ATF filler toolV.A.G 1924 from below into ATF inspection opening -arrow-, do not push cap up and in while doing so.
-- Add ATF using ATF Filler ToolV.A.G 1924 until ATF drips from the check hole.
-- Move the selector lever into "P".
-- Start the engine, wait 20 seconds and then turn it off.
-- Add ATF using ATF Filler ToolV.A.G 1924 until ATF drips from the check hole.
-- Start the engine.
-- Continue to add ATF using the ATF filler toolV.A.G 1924 until ATF starts to come out again from the check hole.
-- Tighten the old ATF inspection plug.
-- With engine idling depress the brake pedal and shift the selector lever through all the selector lever positions leaving the selector lever at least 10 seconds in each position.
-- Move the selector lever into "N".
-- Increase the RPM to 2000 and hold it there for at least 60 seconds.
-- Move the selector lever into "P".
-- ATF Level, Checking and Filling. Refer to ATF LEVEL, CHECKING AND FILLING .
