Selector Mechanism, Performing Emergency Release

NOTE:

It is not possible to move the selector lever out of "P" if the battery is disconnected or if it is discharged.

The Shift Lock Solenoid -N110- will cancel out the lock when the emergency release is activated.

-- Remove front ashtray insert.

-- Pry out the cap in the ashtray housing -arrow-.

Vehicles without Ashtray

-- Carefully remove the storage compartment trim -1- upward.

NOTE:

Lift the trim just far enough until the opening -arrow- for the emergency release lever is accessible.

All Vehicles

-- Push the emergency release lever -arrow- with a screwdriver and at the same time move the selector lever out of "P".

NOTE:

The screwdriver will be guided through the funnel -1- to the emergency release lever.

-- Press the tabs -2- into the openings in the storage compartment -3- and let them lock in place.
