Tightening Specifications

NOTE:

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the same type as those equipped by the factory.

-- Secure selector lever cable to cable that was guided in during removal.

-- Guide the selector lever cable and rubber grommet -2- into the selector mechanism function unit -1-.

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the transmission selector lever.

  • Do not bend the transmission selector lever when installing the selector lever cable. Control it if necessary.

-- Press the selector lever cable -1- carefully onto the selector lever.

-- Secure the grommet selector lever cable grommet to the cable bracket with a new clip -3-.

-- Install the selector lever cable heat shield bolts -1, 3 and 4-, if equipped.

Vehicles with a 3.0L TDI Engine

-- Attach the hoses -arrows- for the Differential Pressure Sensor -G505- to the pressure lines on the particulate filter according to the color markings made earlier.

-- Install the rubber grommet -arrow- on the selector lever cable in the selector mechanism function unit lower section.

-- Shifter mechanism function unit, installing. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM FUNCTION UNIT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Adjust selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING 

-- Install the rear noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
