Transmission Control Module -J217-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
-- Perform OBD and Guided Fault Finding before replacing or removing the control module.
-- Get the control module identification and coding from the previous Transmission Control Module -J217-.
-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to Seat Frames .
-- Open the drawer -1- under the front passenger seat.
-- Release the clips on the back of the cover -2- in direction of -arrow A-.
-- Remove the cover from the front passenger seat in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Remove the bolt -4-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1- and -2-.
-- Remove the mount -3- with the control modules.
Risk of damaging transmission components.
- You must first discharge yourself of any static electricity by touching a grounded metal object (bare handed) before touching or removing the Transmission Control Module -J217-.
- Never touch the connectors in the Transmission Control Module -J217-. Static discharging can damage the Transmission Control Module -J217-.
-- To discharge static, touch vehicle ground with hand (without glove).
-- Open the clips in direction of -arrows- and remove the Transmission Control Module -J217- -3- as far as the stop. If necessary, release clips again and remove control module from mount.
