ATF Pipes For ATF Cooler With Clamping Connections

NOTE:

The ATF pipes are attached to the ATF either with union nuts or clamping connections depending on the date of manufacture.

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure

To connect an ATF pipe with a union nut to a cooler with a clamping connection:

-- Tape off the ATF pipe with electrical tape.

-- Seal off the ATF pipe with a clean plug taken from Engine Bung SetVAS6122.

-- Position the union nut in the center on the ATF pipe taped off with electrical tape.

-- Secure the union nut in a vise.

-- Saw approximately 2 /3 into the union nut with a hand saw.

-- Crack open the union nut with a screwdriver. When doing this, do not support the screwdriver on the ATF pipe.

-- Bend the union nut with the water pump pliers in direction of -arrow- and remove it.
