Left Cylinder Head Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Carefully pull the engine cover off the four retaining pins one after the other in direction of -arrows-.

-- Remove the left fuel injectors. Refer to FUEL INJECTORS .

-- Remove the left fuel rail. Refer to FUEL RAIL, HIGH PRESSURE LINES, FUEL INJECTORS OVERVIEW .

-- Remove the Intake Flap Motor -V157- -1-. Refer to Intake Flap Motor -V157- .

-- Remove the bolts -1- and then remove the intake manifold mount.

NOTE:

Ignore item -2-.

-- Remove bolts -1 and 2- and then remove the heat shield.

-- Free up the wiring harness on the cylinder head cover using the Pry Lever80-200.

-- Free up the vacuum hose.

CAUTION:

Depending on the vehicle equipment level and market-specific crankcase ventilation hose may be used, which cannot be removed from the cylinder head cover without being destroyed. In these versions the hose on the cylinder head cover is destroyed and replaced.

-- Remove the hose -arrow- for the crankcase ventilation, to do so - if equipped- press the release button or the damage the hose connection on the cylinder head cover.

-- Loosen the bolts in sequence -7 to 1-.

-- Remove the bolts and the cylinder head cover.
