High Pressure Pump: Installing
- Tightening specifications: 22 Nm.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
-- Modify the adapter from the old high pressure pump to the new one when replacing the high pressure pump.
-- Use Counter Holder ToolT40248 or Counter Holder ToolT40292 to loosen and tighten the nut -arrow- on the adapter.
Different adapters may be installed depending on the date of manufacture
The high pressure lines also need to be replaced when replacing the high pressure pump.
-- Guide the high pressure pump into the chain sprocket.
- The chain sprocket double splines -arrow A- need to align with the adapter groove -arrow B- on the high pressure pump shaft.
-- Remove Crankshaft Holder3242 and securing pin Locking PinT40245.
-- Tighten the bolt for the TDC marking in the upper oil pan .
-- High pressure lines, installing. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE LINES, INSTALLING .
-- Install the coolant shut-off valve. Refer to COOLANT SHUT-OFF VALVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the oil cooler. Refer to ENGINE OIL COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the turbocharger. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [ .
-- Install intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD .
-- Install the rear noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Letting the high pressure pump run dry will destroy it.
- The high pressure pump must be filled with fuel after installing, but before the engine is started for the first time. Refer to FUEL TANK, FILLING WITH FUEL AFTER INSTALLING HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
Perform an adaptation after replacing the high pressure pump and / or the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-. Use a Vehicle Diagnostic Tester to do this.
