Fuel System Schematic Overview
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Audi Q7, 2014 Audi Q7, and 2013 Audi Q7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Danger of malfunction caused by dirt.
- Note, refer to FUEL SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Follow the points below to avoid running the high pressure fuel pump dry and to start the engine quickly after replacing the components:
- If fuel system components between the fuel tank and high pressure fuel pump were removed or replaced, the fuel system must be bled. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM, FILLING/BLEEDING .
- If the high pressure fuel pump was removed or replaced, then bleed the fuel system before starting the engine for the first time. Filling the fuel for the first time. Refer to FUEL TANK, FILLING WITH FUEL AFTER INSTALLING HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
NOTE:
If these instructions are not followed, the high pressure pump will be damaged during the first filling.
- Fuel Metering Valve -N290-
- Do not open
- High Pressure Fuel Pump
- Perform an adaptation after replacing the high pressure pump and / or the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-. Use a Vehicle Diagnosis Tester
- Assembly Overview, refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP OVERVIEW .

-- Align the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- such that connecting the harness connector -arrow- does not cause the electrical wiring to be placed under tension.
-- Counterhold the housing hex bolt to tighten union nut on regulator valve in 4 stages as follows:
| Stage | Tightening Specification |
|---|---|
| 1. | Install all the way in by hand. |
| 2. | 60 Nm |
| 3. | Turn back 90° |
| 4. | 85 Nm |
-- Tighten Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- in 4 steps as described below:
NOTE:
Do not use an open-end wrench for opening or tightening.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Socket 27 mmT40218
- Torque wrench
