12V Socket 5 -U26-, REPLACING

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Cigarette Lighter Release ToolT40148

Removal

-- Open the cover for the right luggage compartment side trim.

-- Disconnect the connector.

-- The release tabs -2- on the release tool Cigarette Lighter Release ToolT40148 must engage in the openings in the 12V Socket 3 -U19- item -3- in direction of -arrow- and the threaded pin -1- must slide down as far as the stop.

-- Open the mount cover -2- and hold it in that position.

-- Slide the Cigarette Lighter Release ToolT40148 as far as the stop into the 12V socket -3-.

-- Rotate the thumbwheel -1- on the Cigarette Lighter Release ToolT40148 clockwise as far as the stop.

The piston -2- is pulled upward and the release tabs -1- on the Cigarette Lighter Release ToolT40148 spread in direction of -arrows-.

-- Remove the 12 V socket from the mount.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Remove the support -1- on the Cigarette Lighter Release ToolT40148.

-- Slide the piston down and hold it in place.

-- Rotate the thumbwheel -4- on the Cigarette Lighter Release ToolT40148 counterclockwise in direction of -arrow-. This loosens the release tabs -2- on the 12V socket -3- so the Cigarette Lighter Release ToolT40148 can be removed.
