Rear Bumper Overview
CAUTION:
On vehicles with lane change assist (Audi side assist), observe the following.
If rear bumper is removed and re-installed or changes are made to bumper, lane change assist (Audi side assist) calibration is necessary. .
- Cover
- Removing
- Remove the luggage compartment trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Disconnect the parking aid sensor at control module (under tail light, left side) connectors if necessary.
- Remove the cap nuts -6- from the luggage compartment.
- Remove all screws in cover area at wheel housing liner and from lower spoiler. Refer to REAR BUMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Unclip side pieces on sides of guide piece.
- Remove cover toward back.NOTE:
If the vehicle has trim strips in the cover, then it is necessary to remove the cover beforehand.

- Impact Member
- Bumper cover removed.
- To remove, remove screws -9-.
- Bolt
- 110 Nm

- Inserted in body
- Bracket
- Bolt
- 2 Nm
- Right Trim Molding
- Center Trim Strip
- Left Trim Molding
