Air Spring Damper, Servicing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required 

• Torque wrench V.A.G 1410

• CV joint boot clamp tool V.A.G 1682

1 - Air Spring Damper

• Replace the entire air spring damper if the level control system sensors N338 or N339 are damaged.

2 - Clamp

• Always replace
• Tensioning → Tighten clamping sleeve on the air spring damper 

3 - Boot

• Must not have any pressure points. Correct them if necessary → Boot, Correcting Pressure Points .
• Installation position:
• Slide up onto the air spring damper as far as the end of the ribs

4 - Retaining ring

• To secure the bottom of the boot

5 - Pistons

• Clean if dirty

6 - Rubber boot

• Visual inspection → Visual inspection 

7 - Residual Pressure Retaining Valve

• Do not loosen or the air spring damper will be damaged

8 - Auxiliary air reservoir

• Do not remove

9 - Connection

• Do not remove

10 - Bolts

• Do not remove
