Upper left coolant pipe, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Hose clamp pliers V.A.G 1921
Removing
- Engine/transmission unit removed and attached to scissor lift platform VAS 6131.
- Remove bolt - 1 -.
- Pull oil dipstick guide tube upward and off - arrow -.
- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 - for Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 4 G286.
NOTE:
- Disregard the other items in the illustration.
- Move electrical wiring to oxygen sensor clear.
- Remove Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 4 G286 - arrow 2 - using ring spanner set 3337.
NOTE:
- Ignore - arrow 1 - in the illustration.
- Disconnect coolant hoses - arrows - at upper left coolant pipe.
- Remove bolts - 1 - , - 2 - and nut - 3 -.
- Remove upper left coolant pipe upward.
NOTE:
- To improve clarity, the exhaust manifold and catalytic converters are shown removed.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
NOTE:
- Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type .
- Install Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 4 G286 → 24 FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
- Install engine/transmission assembly → Engine, Installing .
