Lower left coolant pipe, removing and installing

Removing

CAUTION: Cover the cap of the expansion tank with a rag and open it carefully, as hot steam, i.e. hot coolant, may escape when opening.

For vehicles with auxiliary heater, remove bolts - arrows - for exhaust pipe of auxiliary heater on sound insulation.

Place drip tray for workshop crane VAS 6208 or drip tray V.A.G 1306 under engine.
Disconnect coolant hose - 2 - from lower left coolant pipe and drain coolant.
Remove bolt - 1 - and nut - 3 -.
Disconnect lower left coolant pipe from coolant hose - 4 -.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
