Coolant thermostat, removing and installing

Removing
- Drain coolant → Cooling System, Draining and Filling .
NOTE:
- All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.
- The coolant must be completely drained, otherwise there is a risk that coolant may leak into the intake channels.
- Remove intake manifold upper part: → Intake Manifold Upper Section, Removing and Installing .
- Remove intake manifold lower part: → Intake Manifold Lower Section, Removing and Installing .
- Disconnect electrical harness connector - arrow -.
- Move electrical wiring clear.
- Remove coolant hoses - 2 - and - 3 -.
- Remove bolt - 1 - and disconnect pipe connection at housing.
- Remove bolts - arrows - and remove thermostat housing.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
NOTE:
- Replace gaskets and O-rings.
- Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type .
- During installation, all cable ties must be reinstalled at the same location.
- Install intake manifold lower part: → Intake Manifold Lower Section, Removing and Installing .
- Install intake manifold upper part: → Intake Manifold Upper Section, Removing and Installing .
- Fill with coolant. → Filling under Cooling System, Draining and Filling
