Timing Chains for Camshaft Drive, Removing and Installing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: Crankshaft and camshafts may only be turned over with the engine completely assembled and may only be turned at the crankshaft. The timing chain covers and the chain tensioner for the right camshafts timing chain must be installed.
NOTE:
  • The crankshaft holder 3242 serves exclusively to lock the crankshaft at TDC. To counterhold, the counter-holder tool T10069 must be used.
  • The camshaft bar T10068 serves exclusively to lock the camshaft at TDC. To counterhold, an open-end 32 mm wrench must be set on the hex of the camshaft.
