Right front muffler, removing and installing

NOTE:

Before raising the vehicle on a hoist (wheels off the ground), first activate the vehicle jack mode → 43 - Self Leveling Suspension .

Remove bolts - arrows - for exhaust pipe of parking heater/auxiliary heater on noise insulation.

Remove noise insulation - 2 through 4 -.

Separate right exhaust pipe using chain pipe cutter VAS 6254.

Dimension - a - 67 mm

NOTE:

Flex joint in front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10° , otherwise it may be damaged.

Loosen double clamp - 2 - and slide it toward front.

Remove right exhaust pipe - 2 - from bracket.

Installing

NOTE:

Replace self-locking nuts.

Installation is in reverse order of removal.
Install exhaust system free of stress → Exhaust system, installing free of tension .

Torque specifications

Tightening torques → Exhaust system, assembly overview
