Coolant pump, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Drip tray for workshop crane VAS 6208
Hose clamp pliers V.A.G 1921
Spring-type clip pliers V.A.S 5024 A

Removing

Drain coolant → Cooling system, draining and filling .
Toothed belt, removing → Toothed belt, removing and installing .

Remove nuts - 2 - for toothed belt guard at left rear.
Remove bolts - 1 - for coolant pump and remove coolant pump.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

NOTE:

Replace seals.

Clean sealing surfaces at cylinder block.
Install toothed belt (adjust timing) → Toothed belt, removing and installing .
Fill with coolant.
Install torque support → Torque support (with torque support valve N382), assembly overview .
