Left cylinder head cover, removing and installing

Removing

Remove engine cover - 1 - and - 2 - upward.
Remove ignition coils → 28 IGNITION/GLOW PLUG SYSTEM .
Disconnect crankcase ventilation hose from cylinder head cover.
Remove toothed belt guard.

Remove left cylinder head cover bolts in sequence - 12 to 1 -.
Remove cylinder head cover.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

NOTE:

Replace cylinder head cover gaskets and ignition coils if damaged.
Replace bolts for cylinder head cover if gasket is damaged.

Clean sealing surfaces, must be free of oil and grease.

Apply thin layer of sealant (dia. approx. 5 mm) - arrows - to edges of sealing surfaces between bearing cap and cylinder head.

Tighten cylinder head cover in sequence - 1 to 12 -.
