Anti-Theft Immobilizer, with Access/Start Control Module

Immobilizer control is integrated in Access/Start Control Module J518. Component location: Integrated in steering column, removing and installing → - 48 - Steering Removal And Installation .

The following components are also part of the immobilizer:

• Vehicle key with integrated transponder.
• Induction coil in Access/Start Authorization Switch E415 (electronic ignition lock).
• Engine Control Module (ECM).
• Transmission Control Module (TCM).

• If the control module is replaced, use Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing info. System VAS 5051B (or other VAS 505X class tester) in operating mode "Guided Functions" and select the "Replace" function for the respective control module.
