Battery Electrolyte Level, Checking

Procedure 

Maintaining the correct electrolyte level in the battery is an important factor affecting the length of the batterys service life.

CAUTION: Risk of injury due to contact with battery acid.
  • Follow accident prevention regulations when working with battery acid.
  • Wear protective eyewear and clothing.
  • If the electrolyte level is too low, the battery must be replaced. It must not be opened and distilled water must not be added.

Risk of explosion due to open flame, fire and smoking.

  • Never handle open flame or burning cigarettes near batteries.
