Micro Switch, Adjusting, Backrest Lock Switch

Backrest Lock Switch, Adjusting. Refer To Fig 1.

Backrest Forward Stop Switch, Adjusting. Refer To Fig 5.

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

Gauge - Seat Microswitch:T40179 for :8T0 959 760
Seat Microswitch Sleeve:T40180
Gauge - Seat Microswitch:T40181 for :8T0 959 760 B and following

NOTE:

Check The Part Number On The Passenger Memory Seat Control Module -J521- And Memory Seat/Steering Column Adjustment Control Module -J136-. For : 8T0 959 760 the Gauge - Seat Microswitch: T40179 must be used. The Gauge - Seat Microswitch:T40181 is used starting with :8T0 959 760 B and with the following versions.

Adjusting The Backrest Lock Switch

CAUTION:

The distance between the pins -3- and the tab -4- on the backrest lock switch must be checked with the backrest locked.
Do not damage the tab -4- when sliding on the Seat Microswitch Sleeve:T40180

-- Slide the Seat Microswitch Sleeve:T40180 onto the pins -3- all the way.

The Seat Microswitch Sleeve:T40180 and tab -4- must touch each other but must not activate the backrest lock switch -2-.

CAUTION:

If The Seat Microswitch Sleeve:T40180 Does Not Touch The Tab Or If It Actuates The Backrest Lock Switch, The Switch Must Be Adjusted.

-- Unclip the slide retainer -1-.

-- Release the locking tab -4- in the direction of the -arrow-.

-- Move the slide -3- with the backrest lock switch -1- in the direction of the -arrow A or B-.

NOTE:

Leave The Seat Microswitch Sleeve:T40180 installed on the pins when adjusting the backrest lock switch.

-- Clip the slide retainer -1- in.

Adjusting The Backrest Forward Stop Switch

The locking bushing -4- must not engage with the spindle -3-. It must be able to move on the shaft -5-.

-- Position the Gauge - Seat Microswitch:T40179 or Gauge - Seat Microswitch:T40181 on the hinge -2-.

-- The front edge of the gauge -arrow B- must lie on the moving anchor -1-.

-- Connect an external power source (12 Volt) to the backrest adjustment motor.

-- Move the backrest forward until the anchor -1- lies on the Gauge - Seat Microswitch:T40179 or Gauge - Seat Microswitch:T40181 and the motor switches off.

NOTE:

Depending On The Switch Adjusting, The Backrest Adjustment Motor May Stop Before It Runs Into The Block. Run The Motor Up To The Block Again. >>The Gauge Must Be Clamped In<<.

-- Rotate the spindle -2- until the spindle nut -1- operates the button -arrow-.

-- Engage the locking bushing -4- with the spindle -3-.

-- Remove the gauge.

Checking The Adjustment

-- Move the backrest back slightly using the adjusting motor.

-- Move the backrest forward again until the adjustment motor switches off.

There should be a gap at the location where the gauge was inserted for the adjustment.
The anchors must not be lined up on the block.
