Front side airbag crash sensor, removing and installing

• Removing 

• Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
• Remove side trim → Left side trim, assembly overview .
• Remove belt reel of front seat belt → Front 3-point seat belt with belt tensioner, assembly overivew .
• Remove belt reel insulation → Insulation, assembly overview .

• Remove bolts - 2  - (2x).

• Tightening torque 9 Nm

• Disconnect connector on crash sensor - 1  - and remove crash sensor - 1  -.

• Installing

• Install crash sensor - 1  - in reverse order of removal.
• Switch ignition on.

CAUTION: There must be no one in the vehicle when the battery is being connected.

• Connect battery Ground (GND) strap.

NOTE:

• After connecting the battery observe the necessary measures. →
  • 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL
  • 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL for ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, CABRIOLET
• If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after assembly, use vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 A to interrogate, erase and then again interrogate DTC memory.
