A-Pillar Upper Trim, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

If trim clamps remain in body mounting points, remove these and insert them in trim.

Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

-- Remove any locking compound residue from the threaded hole for the retaining screw in the upper A-pillar trim. You can use a thread cutter to do so.

If threaded hole is not cleaned, there is the danger that the new screw could seize up during installation and shear off when removed again.

-- Insert upper A-pillar trim -1- in ribbed instrument panel ridge -2- in the direction of the -arrow-.

-- Tip upper A-pillar trim -2- toward the body and clip in the clamps without clamping head curtain airbag -5-.

-- Align hole in adapter -4- to threaded hole in body.

-- Tighten screw -3- to tightening specification.

-- Clip in cover cap -1- with the airbag symbol and draw door seal lip -6- over the upper A-pillar trim.
