Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- BASIC, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, THROUGH 05/29/2009
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Radio Removal ToolT10057
- Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective CapsVAS6223/9
-- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding" .
Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.
Removing from the instrument panel
-- Insert the clips on the Radio Removal ToolT10057 into the slots on the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- until they lock into place. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.
-- Remove the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- from the mounting frame.
-- Release and disconnect the connectors from the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523-.
-- Connect the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective CapsVAS6223/9 -1- to the connector for the MOST-Bus -2-.
-- Pull Radio Removal ToolT10057 out while pressing on locking tabs on Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523-.
Removing from beneath center armrest
-- Insert the clips on the Radio Removal ToolT10057 into the slots on the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- until they lock into place. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.
-- Remove the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- from the mounting frame.
-- Release and disconnect the connectors from the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523-.
-- Connect the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective CapsVAS6223/9 -1- to the connector for the MOST-Bus -2-.
-- Pull Radio Removal ToolT10057 out while pressing on locking tabs on Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523-.
Installing
-- Connect harness connectors.
-- Slide Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- into installation frame until it engages.
