Rear Vents, 4-Zone A/C System, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required 

• Torque wrench V.A.G 1783/

Component Location Overview 

1 - Rear center console panel

2 - Rear cigarette lighter

3 - Rear A/C controls

4 - Rear air vents, 4-zone A/C system

5 - Center Console

• Switch off ignition.

Rear Vents, 4-Zone A/C System, Removing 

• Unclip rear center console panel - 1  -.
• Remove bolts - 2  - (qty. 2).
• Pull rear air vents, 4-zone A/C system - 4  - out of center console - 3  -.
• Disconnect electrical connectors.

• Remove rear air vents, 4-zone A/C system.

Rear A/C Controls, Removing 

• Pull rear A/C controls - 1  - out of rear air vents, 4-zone A/C system - 2  -.

Rear Cigarette Lighter, Removing and Installing 

• Rotate cigarette lighter - 1  - in -direction of arrow- until it stops.
• Pull cigarette lighter out of mount in rear air vents.

Installation is reverse of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

• Follow the installation sequence when installing cigarette lighter and rear center console panel.

• Connect electrical harness connectors.

• Insert cigarette lighter with roll pin - 1  - into mount - 2  - in rear air vent.
• Rotate cigarette lighter clockwise until it stops.
• Install rear air vents, 4-zone A/C system into center console.
• Clip rear center console panel into rear air vents, 4-zone A/C system.

Tightening Specifications 

Rear air vents - 4-zone A/C system to center console: 4 Nm
