Vane pump, removing and installing:: Installing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:
NOTE:
- Replace gaskets and O-rings.
- Before installing the new pump on the intake side, fill the hydraulic oil and install it by hand until oil drains out on the high pressure side.
- Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate to the model .
- Turn hub by hand until oil runs out of pressure side.
- Tighten bolts - arrows - and.
Check the belt pulley alignment and adjust it
Installation position: The raised section - 1 - on the ribbed belt pulley faces in the direction of travel.
- Tighten power steering pump ribbed belt pulley bolts - arrows

- Place alignment gauge 3201 on the A/C compressor ribbed belt pulley.
- Determine centered position of the power steering pump shaft by moving the pump shaft back and forth.
The power steering pump ribbed belt pulley must align with the A/C compressor ribbed belt pulley when centered.
If the two ribbed belt pulleys are not aligned:
- Balance out the distance from the power steering pump ribbed belt pulley - 2 - to the A/C compress ribbed belt pulley using shims - 3 - in varying thicknesses .
- Then check the ribbed belt pulley alignment using the alignment gauge 3201. Repeat adjustment if necessary.
- Install new gaskets - 5 - on the banjo bolt.
- Tighten banjo bolt - 2 -.
- Position suction hose - 3 - with a new clamping sleeve - 4 - and tighten. Top off hydraulic oil .
- Clean oiled places in engine compartment.
