The steering centering locking bolt - arrow  - is located between the boot and adjusting unit.

1 - Screw plug 22 Nm

2 - Install steering centering screw VAS 6224 as far as possible by hand.

3 - Steering rack

4 - Steering gear housing

• Move steering wheel slightly out of center position.
• A second technician rotates steering centering bolt VAS 6224 - 2  - in the steering gear until it engages in the centering hole.
