Passenger Seat Occupant Detection Sensor -G128-, Removing And Installing: Installing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting a connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

Standard Seat and sport seat (Manual or Power):

-- Position the circuit board -4- for the passenger occupant detection sensor -2- in the opening -3- in the seat cushion -1-.

-- Align the passenger occupant detection sensor on the seat cushion according to the markings -arrows-.

CAUTION:

The new passenger occupant detection sensor should be installed in the same location on the seat cushion as the old sensor.

-- Remove the protective film and bond the passenger occupant detection sensor firmly to the seat cushion.

Comfort Seat:

-- Position the circuit board -3- for the passenger occupant detection sensor -4- in the opening -2- in the seat cushion -1-

CAUTION:

The new passenger occupant detection sensor should be installed in the same location on the seat cushion as the old sensor.

-- Align the passenger occupant detection sensor on the seat cushion according to the markings -a-.

Dimension -a- = 20 mm.

-- Remove the protective film and bond the passenger occupant detection sensor firmly to the seat cushion.

Super Sport Seat:

-- Position the circuit board -4- for the passenger occupant detection sensor -2- in the opening -3- in the seat cushion -1-.

-- Align the passenger occupant detection sensor on the seat cushion according to the markings -arrows-.

The new passenger occupant detection sensor should be installed in the same location on the seat cushion as the old sensor.

-- Remove the protective film and bond the passenger occupant detection sensor firmly to the seat cushion.

Continuation for All Seat Versions:

The rest of the installation is performed in reverse order of removal. Note The Following:

NOTE:

Make sure the passenger occupant detection sensor is not covered by the seat heater element heating coils.

Make sure the connectors are installed all the way and engage audibly.

WARNING:

The ignition must be on when connecting the battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle interior when connecting the battery.

-- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on. Refer to BATTERY .

NOTE:

If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- indicates a fault after installing, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Teste.
