Thermostat, removing and installing: Removing

The thermostat is located at the right front of the engine below the intake manifold.
- Drain coolant. See COOLING SYSTEM, DRAINING AND FILLING .
- Remove toothed belt from camshafts. See TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFT SPROCKETS .
- Remove thermostat housing -arrows-.
