Lower Timing Chain Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the upper coolant pipe. Refer to UPPER COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Engine oil is drained. Refer to Maintenance, Diagnosis .
The transmission is removed. Refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

When installing, bring all cable ties back to same positions.

-- Remove the oil filter housing. Refer to OIL FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right timing chain covers. Refer to LEFT AND RIGHT TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -3- from the Engine Speed Sensor -G28-.

NOTE:

Ignore items -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the bolts from the left timing chain guard -3- and remove the bracket.

Ignore items -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the bolts from the right timing chain guard -1- and remove the bracket.

Ignore items -2 and 3-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Loosen and remove the bolts -1 through 10- in a diagonal sequence.

-- Carefully separate the timing chain guard lower section from the bond.

-- Press the transmission side of the crankshaft shaft seal out of the lower timing chain cover.
