Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder

Engine Sling 2024 A
Engine And Transmission Holder VAS6095 with Engine/Transmission Holder - Universal Mounting VAS6095/1 and Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 FSI Bracket VAS6095/1-5
Shop Crane VAS 6100
Lift Arm Extension VAS6101

Procedure

Engine/transmission assembly removed and separated on Scissor Lift Table VAS6131B. Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .
Engine secured with Joint Support VAS6131/13-7.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- from the left engine mount.

Ignore item -1-.

WARNING:

Risk of accident!

The engine may be transported only in the manner described and without the transmission.

The engine is separated from the transmission. Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .

-- Engage the Engine Sling 2024 A on the engine lifting eyes and on the Shop Crane VAS6100 with Lift Arm Extension VAS6101 as shown in the illustration.

NOTE:

To be aligned to the center of gravity of the engine assembly, the hole rails of the lifting hook must be inserted as shown in the illustration.

WARNING:

There is the risk of an accident.

Lifting hooks and alignment pins on the engine sling must be secured with locating pins -arrows-.

-- Remove the Joint Support VAS6131/13-7 from the engine -arrow-.

-- Raise engine from engine carrier.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the right -1- and left engine supports.

-- Secure the engine with Engine/Transmission Holder - Universal Mounting VAS6095/1 and Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 FSI Bracket VAS6095/1-5 on the Engine And Transmission Holder VAS6095 to 40 Nm as shown in the illustration.
